FsXpand For The Entry Level Cockpit

FsXpand

One of the goals I wanted to accomplish with my cockpit was the ability to fly various types of aircraft and have the gauges displayed semi-accurate on the panels. Now my cockpit does lean towards a civil air setup but with the 4 12.1" displays under the glareshield I can pretty much display whatever I want.

Gert and the crew that developed FsXpand have brought cockpit building to us entry level guys. The software has pre made panels or you can configure custom panels which can suit whatever AC you fly. The software includes a full suite and even includes a stripped down version 737 style MFD & ND.

There is not any software that comes close to the set of features FsXpand offers, in this price range. Support is good on the forum and setup works well, although setup can be a bit tricky if you are a newbie to networking multiple computers.

Another bonus is when you purchase FsXpand you are entitled to a lifetime of software updates. For you glass cockpit flyers Gert is planning on including full FMC functionality into the glass cockpit suite.

With a price inline with us budget minded cockpit builders and a serious amount of gauges to configure into your cockpit FsXpand is the clear choice for all cockpit building hobbyists.

I am hoping

The cockpit I am building is going to be built around a version of the F-22, although I will have the capability to run heavy iron as well.... I am planning to get FSXpand, but I have a question about it.

First, what I want to do:  I have bought two 12.1 inch monitors, and plan to buy a third.  I would like to set them up as "portrait" type displays.  How hard would it be to rotate the gauges in FSXpand to orient themselves properly in a monitor that has been rotated?  Should I buy rotated monitor software, or is there a variable somewhere that I can set?  I do  know that there is software than can run under windows whereby you can configure your monitors to operate in portrait mode, but will it be compatible with FSXpand and/or flight simulator?
I also have located a source for the F-22 HOTAS, although it will be around three months before it is available.  It is made from the SAME MOLDS as the actual F-22 uses, so like the couger is to the F-16, these are for the F-22.  You can get them from Bugeye Technologies in St Louis, MO, USA.  I do not know if they are available for foreign  export or not.  Bugeye also sells MFD's that are supposed to be very good (Disclaimer...I work for the company that sells the video hardware to Bugeye, although I gain nothing other than a salary from them...and as far as I know, I cannot get the hardware from them)  The problem with the MFD's, is that they are quite expensive (around $2000 USD).
If anyone knows about rotating FSXpand, and if it will work, please advise me.  It is a decision I need to make before i start cutting holes in my dashboard.
